We worked with a large pharmaceutical company to construct a web application that assists scientists with the generation of randomised plate maps. We engaged with all stakeholders to agree on requirements, derived a methodology that solved the problem and created a web tool that requires no coding expertise from the end user. As a result everyone in the team is now empowered to generate randomized plate maps themselves. It reduces the time to generate the plate maps from 1day to 15min. More over, it reduces operator bias and improves reproducibility.
