IMI Industrial Fellows

Industrial fellows work alongside IMI staff and IMI Academic Fellows.  They play a key role in establishing long-term strategic partnerships between the IMI and their company, with the opportunity to increase their visibility in the academic community.

About our fellowships

  • Fellowship holders are offered an initial tenure of 2 years with the option to extend if leveraged research income is obtained.
  • Fellows work with MIRAs (under NDA if desired).
  • Industrial Fellows are offered access to IMI’s mathematical, statistical and machine learning expertise, through scheduled meetings with IMI staff and university academic personnel.
  • Fellows can participate in IMI academic and knowledge exchange workshops, and will be supported to apply for external research funding (e.g. Innovate UK, ISCF, and Royal Society schemes) jointly with IMI and Bath researchers.
  • Fellows will be offered prominent space on the IMI website to promote IMI-related research.

How to become a fellow

Fellowships are invited positions offered in recognition of an individual’s engagement with IMI.  Engagement is considered as bringing either grant or consultancy money into IMI with a minimum value of £5000, or where MIRA time has been included on an externally funded research proposal or project.
