Would you like to form exciting new research collaborations with researchers from other disciplines to tackle the current climate crisis and support society in developing adaptation, mitigation, and sustainability strategies?
The IMI’s new Environmental Extremes theme is hosting its inaugural workshop on 24-25 June at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI). The workshop will bring together academics and postdoctoral researchers from across the university to initiate interdisciplinary research collaborations on all aspects related to environmental extremes and/or climate change, including:
- Assessing the impact of environmental extreme events and climate change on society and/or industry
- Development of adaptation, mitigation, and sustainability strategies
- Modelling climate risks, including the frequency and severity of environmental extreme events
- Policy planning
The IMI will support development of some of the ideas formulated at the workshop through Mathematical Innovation Research Associate time. We intend this workshop to be the start of collaborations leading up to cutting-edge, high-impact research papers and interdisciplinary grant applications. This workshop is also an excellent networking opportunity to meet researchers from other departments of the university working on the aspects listed above.
