The goal of these meetings is to consider both the positive and negative aspects of the impact of COVID and look at opportunities where mathematical modelling can help address how the future of work, healthcare and travel are meshed into the fabric of society. Each meeting will focus on a particular economic sector hit by the pandemic.
Hospitality & Tourism meeting – 1pm-4.30pm, 23 February 2022
We will look at how the many aspects of Hospitality & Tourism have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. This will include a focus on issues facing the southwest. The meeting will have a series of short presentations from relevant local and regional industry representatives who will outline the issues and problems that have been exacerbated post-Covid. Followed by IMI-led facilitated breakout discussions that will examine potential mathematical solutions to the problems described.
This meeting is a follow-up to the Virtual Study Group on Recovery from the Pandemic: Hospitality & Leisure that took place in October 2021, followed by a report.
