Dr. Mohammad Golbabaee

Mohammad is an assistant professor (lecturer) at the Computer Science Department. His research interests include compressed sensing, inverse problems, signal and image processing, and optimisation algorithms for large-scale machine learning: theoretical and applied to medical imaging and computer vision. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer and Communication Sciences from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) , Switzerland.  He was awarded the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Fellowship and visited the DSP group at Rice University, Houston TX USA, in 2014. He was a CNRS postdoctoral researcher in Applied Mathematics Research Centre (CEREMADE) at Université Paris Dauphine, France, and before his current position, he was with the University of Edinburgh and held an early career award from the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) for the project “Accelerating quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging acquisition and reconstruction”.
