Dr Antal Jarai

Antal A. Jarai is a member of the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Dr Jarai has worked in Probability and Mathematical Physics, in the analysis of critical phenomena. He has made important contributions to the theory of sandpile models, uniform spanning trees, anomalous diffusion, percolation and sequential assignment. Recently, as part of international collaborations and through the supervision of PhDs, he studied critical exponents in sandpile models, and the role of the critical dimension in different lattice models of statistical physics. As part of his fellowship in the IMI, he will be working on scaling limit questions for the two-dimensional sandpile model.
