Dr Andrew Hillis

Andy Hillis is a member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Centre for Power Transmission and Motion Control. His research interests are in the application of control theory to a wide range of systems. As part of his fellowship in the IMI, he will be working with IMI Fellow Mark Opmeer to create novel optimal control strategies to maximise the efficiency of mechanical energy harvesting devices at all scales – from micro-energy harvesters powering wireless sensor networks to grid-scale renewable wave energy converter farms.
