Mathematical Innovation Research Associate
Ben Ashby

Ben is a numerical analyst who specialises in error analysis and algorithms for adaptive mesh refinement.

In his research so far, Ben has studied numerical methods for models of water infiltration in porous media relevant for the prediction of landslides. This work has been in collaboration with CEMADEN (Brazilian National Center for Monitoring and Natural Disaster Alerts).

Ben completed an MRes and is currently nearing the end of his PhD with the EPSRC doctoral training centre for Mathematics of Planet Earth at the University of Reading.
