IMI partners with research centres of excellence; centres for doctoral training and academics. Our collaboration adds value to grant capture, delivery of research activities, driving innovation and impact. Many of its activities straddle more than one, if not all, of our four main pillars.
Pillar I (Core academic research engagement): Supporting fundamental, applicable and applied research across the natural, physical, engineering and social sciences with a firm mathematical grounding.
Pillar II (Industrial Research and Impact): Initiating, leading, and adding value to industrial and external partnerships.
Pillar III (Internationalisation): IMI leads collaborative activities across international boundaries in partnership with a global network of institutes/centres of research excellence.
Pillar IV (Postdoctoral training centre): IMI is developing the first UK cohort-based postdoctoral training centre to bridge the skills between doctoral training and the demands of mathematical careers in academia, industry and society.
