We are proud to announce the promotion of Beate Ehrhardt to Mathematical Innovation Research Fellow (previously Research Associate). Beate’s research expertise lies in applied statistics and machine learning, with a particular focus on bringing state-of-the-art mathematical methods to new disciplinary contexts. Beate has forged numerous research collaborations across campus where there was no previous interaction with Math. Sci. and has collaborated with a total of 9 departments (3 faculties), industry (National Grid, Wessex Water and LettUs Grow) and the NHS. She has established herself as a research catalyst creating opportunities to add value through statistics and machine learning as evident in her research grant success rate of 29%. In light of this promotion, Beate will be taking on more of a research leadership role within the IMI. It goes without saying that we are delighted to have Beate as part of the IMI team.
